MY GO-TO GREEN SMOOTHIE



This sunny weather has got me craving vibrant smoothies! I've been drinking this delicious nutrient-dense smoothie a lot over the past few weeks. Not only does it make me feel amazing and vibrant but it is packed with healthy fat and protein to keep me satisfied.


Generally I try to eat breakfast within an hour of waking as it is very balancing for our hormones so this smoothie is amazing if you don't want to eat a big breakfast first thing in the morning or are just looking to load up on some goodness after maybe overindulging a little - it happens to us all!


There is so much goodness packed into this smoothie and it tastes creamy and delicious. Whilst I do enjoy a fresh juice every now and then, I prefer smoothies as they are loaded with fibre to stabilise our blood sugar, contribute towards a healthy gut and also bind to and sweep toxins from the body.


Smoothies are also a great way to get some goodness in if you are away or travelling for work now that the world is opening up. The ingredients in this smoothie are pretty easy to get hold of and you can purchase brilliant travel blenders.

 

INGREDIENTS


Large handful kale

Large handful spinach

1 apple

1 pear

2 tbsp cold-milled flaxseed

2 tbsp hemp seed

1 tbsp almond butter

½ lemon (juice)

Thumb sized piece of ginger (or more if you love ginger like me!)

200-250 ml coconut milk (depending on preferred consistency)

Large handful of ice

 

DIRECTIONS


SERVES: 2 TIME: 5 MINS


Throw everything into a blender in the order above and blend until really really smooth.
