GOLDEN MILK

As well as being the colour of sunshine, this is an incredibly warming, soothing and anti-inflammatory drink. Based on Ayurvedic principles, this Golden milk, or Turmeric Latte as it is also commonly known, is becoming more and more widely available. The active ingredient in the turmeric, called curcumin, is what gives this spice its vibrant yellow colour and anti-inflammatory properties. The black pepper is an important part of this recipe as it helps the curcumin to be absorbed in our bodies. It really does feel like a hug in a mug. It makes a lovely change to your usual cup of tea or coffee. I quite like wizzing up some oat milk in a milk frother to add to the top sometimes to make it feel even more fancy! Experiment with the amount of turmeric you use to find the what you like.
